Micah Lynch, Principal

Mrs. Micah Lynch is passionate about education and providing positive experiences for students through intentional relationships.  She is committed to being a lifelong learner so she can serve students as they meet with success and build a strong future. A native of Chowan County and the daughter of an elementary school teacher. Ms. Lynch has a bachelor's degree in Special Education with credentials in middle grades math, and a Masters's degree in School Leadership from Elizabeth City State University. 

She has served the students of Chowan Middle School since December of 2013-2022. Mrs. Lynch served as the Assistant Principal at White Oak during the 2022-23 school year. Mrs. Lynch is looking forward to serving with her Cubbie Family in this new role as Principal. 

Mrs. Lynch is the proud wife and mother to her husband, Chad, and her two children, Hunter and Raelyn. 

Heather Terrell, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Terrell is a native of Beaufort, NC, but resides in Elizabeth City, NC with her husband and son. Mrs. Terrell started her educational career with Edenton Chowan Schools (D F Walker Elementary) in 2014. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Elizabeth City State University and an M.S.Ed in Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Mrs. Terrell will attend East Carolina University this fall to earn her master's in School Administration. During her teaching career, she received Teacher of the Year during the 2018-2019 school year and the 2021-2022 school year.

She is an outgoing individual who not only educates but can impact lives. As a classroom teacher, she fostered positive relationships with her students, teaching them positive affirmations while making learning fun. Mrs. Terrell’s primary goal is to produce a generation of young hardworking, and determined individuals and push them to believe there is no limit to success. Mrs. Terrell is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and is excited about using her classroom experiences to help influence others. Mrs. Terrell’s motto for life is “Good, better, best, never let it rest, until your good is better, and your better is best.”
