The Edenton-Chowan Public Schools Board of Education conducts paperless monthly meetings. To access a list of board members, meeting agendas, materials presented during meetings, and the policy manual, click on the links located under "Board of Education." The Board of Education will meet on the days listed below. Meetings will be held at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Technology Department located at 109 Blades Street, Edenton, NC  at 6:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

  • July 9, 2024 - Meeting will be held at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Professional Development Center located at 109 Blade Street, Edenton, NC at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be open to the public.   • July 29, 2024 - The Board of Education will hold a special called meeting on Monday, July 29, 2024 to discuss the superintendent search survey results. The meeting will be held at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Professional Development Center located at 109 Blade Street, Edenton, NC and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public.   • August 21, 2024- Emergency Meeting - The Board of Education will meet for an emergency meeting Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Professional Development Center located at 109 Blade Street, Edenton, NC to discuss and take action on the environmental cleaning proposals for White Oak Elementary School and D.F. Walker Elementary School due to emergent issues in those buildings.
     
  • August 29, 2024 - Special Called Meeting - The Board of Education will meet in closed session on August 29, 2024 at 7:45 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, 1099 Hampton Court, Williamston, NC 27892 to discuss confidential personnel matters pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1), (a)(3), and (a)(6) and G.S. 115C-321. The Board will convene the meeting in the front lobby and then proceed to another room in the Inn to hold the closed session.

  • October 14, 2024 - An Oath of Office Ceremony for Superintendent Tammi Ward will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Professional Development Center, 109 Blade Street, Edenton.  A reception will follow.  Board Members have been invited to attend this event and a quorum may be present.  No official school business will be discussed during this time.

 
  • November 12, 2024 - Meeting will be held at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Professional Development Center located at 109 Blade Street, Edenton, NC at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public.   • November 17-20, 2024 - The Board of Education will be attending the North Carolina School Boards Association Annual Conference in Greensboro November 17-20.  No official school business will be discussed during this time.

  • January 14, 2025 - Meeting will be held at the Edenton-Chowan Schools Professional Development Center located at 109 Blade Street, Edenton, NC at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public.
